What we offer: Wine tasting holidays

In this part of France wine is as natural as breathing – it is part of everyday life and follows traditions that have been in place for 100's of years. Burgundy wines are world renowned and form part of the rich heritage of this area.

In our local area, Maconnais, there are many fascinating Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs and Gamay wines to be sampled and the Beaujolais region is situated less than half an hour from Les Portails Bleus (www.burgundy-wines.fr).

Beaune is the capital of the wine region of the Cote d'Or and has a majesty about it rather like one of the good vintages it is famed for and this is situated approximately one hour from us – so makes it a very interesting day out.

There are still independent wine growers in this area who are more than happy to let you taste their produce before you buy it. The Co-Operatives in Burgundy are also good places to start with your wine tasting quests to discover the wine of the area.
